Presentation of the Workshops
Five generations.
More than one century with the service of the Art of the Stained glass.
Beginning with Frederic Duchemin,a specialized painter on glass working for a number of 19th-century studios.
Followed by Georges and Raymond Duchemin, interns in the famed Gruber workshops, who actively participate in the development of the «Art Nouveau» and «Art Deco» styles.
Continued by Claude Duchemin ( trained at the Metiers d’Art School),
a young intern in the midst of Bony Studio, who worked at the side of the painter Georges Rouault on the execution of his window designs for the church of the Plateau d’Assy.
Desiring to perfect his knowledge of glass,Claude Duchemin turned towards termoforming techniques and decided to found his own studio together with his father Raymond.
Thus were born the Duchemin Studios in the mid-1950s.
Dominique Duchemin, daughter of Claude,o graduate of Duperre School
of Applied Arts and of the Ecole des Beaux Arts( where she met her husband Gilles Rousvoal),took over the administration of the family workshops in 1986.
